INTERNATIONAL QUIZZING ORDER OF MERIT

With the addition of the new International Quizzing Circuit, there will now be three Orders of Merit. Two are for domestic events: UK and Americas. One is global and will feature players from all over the world (i.e. not just those in the UK and Americas).

Here’s how we worked out these inaugural rankings:
1. We established each person’s best result for the last three World Quizzing Championships. These were expressed as a percentage of that year’s winning score and were then ranked.
2. The top c. 1,000 scores got a place on the OoM
3. We then took a ratio of 1:4:8:16 to work out the ranks everyone will hold. (If people were tied, we didn’t split the tie.)
4. Finally, we looked at the last Hot 100 season and made sages of anyone who had submitted proctored scores for four or more events.

HOW THE INTERNATIONAL QUIZZING CIRCUIT WILL WORK

International Quizzing Circuit events:

The circuit runs from March - February

Hot 100 (monthly - except June)
World Quizzing Championships (June)
British Open (British Quizzing Circuit - December)
Americas Open (Americas Quizzing Circuit - October)
European Quizzing Championships Individual Quiz (November)
Americas Quizzing Championships Individual Quiz - (February)

If you are playing at a proctored domestic venue for either the British or the Americas circuits, you will be able to play the Hot 100 at the same event for no additional cost. i.e.: You will be playing for domestic rankings points for the UK/Americas Grand Prix quizzes and for International Rankings points with the Hot 100.

If you are playing at a proctored event outside of the Americas or the UK, you can play along with their domestic quizzes, and you will be able to play for International Circuit rankings points with the Hot 100.

How the rankings points will be calculated:

We have put rankings information on to the Hot 100 site. This whole site will be updated to reflect the International Quizzing Circuit. http://www.worldquizrankings.com/rankings-points/
